A lot of Americans are talking about how Barack Obama could be their first “transnational president.” What they mean is that Obama is a candidate who prefers global norms to those of his own nation. Remember that “citizen of the world” stuff he spewed in Berlin?
I wouldn’t want a president who can “unify” the world or identifies as a “citizen of the world.” I want a president whose absolute number one priority is protecting my country and promoting my country, not world values. I want a president who is tuned in to the countries voter, not the wishes and desires of the man-on-the street in Berlin. I want a president who is willing to make the hard choices for his country. America does not need a transnational president, it needs an American president.

1hey Janeth
hows things?
…you know usually I find myself in agreement with most everything you say and always impressed at your ability to cut straight to the core of the issue bypassing all the crap.
but in this instance i cannot agree at all. I think that’s exactly what’s needed, for far too long now the US have only worried about the US’s interests and that’s whats gotten them and the world into the mess they’re (and we) are all in today.
they most definitely need to learn there is a whole world outside of the US AND start giving a s**t about it and the rest of the people who inhabit it. or lock down their borders and bow out of the rest of the world altogether.
continuing on the same old path of self self self is no longer an option IMO.

2Hi Kevsta,
I’m not sure of any other country that spends as much money on other countries as the US does.
The problem is that it’s the small business owners having to carry that burden. How far can you go before you break them?

3I just had someone point out to me that the US never does anything unless it benefits the guys in congress.
I do have to agree with that.
Here is a quote
Our gov’t sends weapons and money when it benefits the fuckers in congress… they don’t give a fuck about us or them

4…exactly, they may “donate” aid, but its always conditional on things being as they stipulate, and for their own benefit. Not for the good of the peoples, US or foreign. for the good of the US Govt and no-one else.
have a read of this one written by my American friend (lives here now)
81% of Americans
